Metal Stud Framing

A metal-framed building is a high-quality building. By virtue of its material characteristics and properties, metal studs provide a number of advantages over wood framing, such as:

  • Metal studs are strong, lightweight, and made from uniform-quality material.

  • Metal-framed walls are straight, with square corners, and do not twist, crack, warp, shrink, or rot as wood can.

  • Metal studs are non-combustible.

  • Metal studs do not promote the growth of mold and are impermeable to termites and other insects and rodents, making metal stud framing ideal for commercial applications.

  • Metal-framed buildings can be designed to withstand wind and seismic loads caused by hurricanes and earthquakes.

Drywall Hanging and Drywall Taping

Drywall, often called sheetrock, gypsum, wallboard or plasterboard, is made of a crumbly, fire-resistant substance called gypsum. It is wrapped in a thick paper coating, is durable and easily cut, trimmed and repaired. Drywall can be used to cover conventional bare stud walls or damaged lath and plaster walls.

The process of installing and finishing drywall over metal stud framing or traditional wood framing is very much the same.  At Commercial Wall Systems, LLC. we take pride in our expertise, and make sure that we follow all current building codes when completing your drywall installation.  Some things you can expect us to do during the installation:

  • Check with other subcontractors or project superintendents to ensure that all electrical and plumbing work is complete prior to installation.

  • Ensure that any needed insulation upgrade or installation is complete prior to dry walling.

  • Accurate measurements and estimates of materials ensure accurate costs analysis

  • High-grade and timely finishing of drywall to your specs (smooth finish, texture, etc)

  • Post-construction punch list follow-up

We invite you to contact us at any time to get more information or an estimate on your next framing or drywall installation project.
